More than a beautiful villa: a perfect and serene universe This completely exceptional villa is the culmination of several years of design and construction by the owners. It harmoniously integrates East with West, blending a Zen sensibility, modern luxury and natural materials.
Set discreetly into the hillside above beautiful Marigot Beach and Bay on the French West Indies island of St. Barths, this newly completed masterpiece of architecture en interior design takes maximum advantage of its privileged, private setting. The cherry on top is the breathtaking views from the terrace over the Bay of Marigot in the direction of Turtle Island. Upon entering the villa, the Asian influence is immediately apparent: a small wooden bridge straddles a pond of water lilies where koi carp swim peacefully and water cascades over a wall of pebbles. After the Zen greeting at the small entrance where two benevolent Buddhas reign, you enter the large living room through a spectacular round glass door containing fuchsia pink orchids within, giving an amazing visual effect at dusk when they are lit up.
Two 17th century samurai soldiers guard the huge living area. The television cabinet is the only of its kind in the world and was specially commissioned for the residence, as in fact were most of the other decorative pieces of furniture. The living room opens onto the terrace and the dining room, located under the covered part of the terrace, can seat 18-20. The kitchen is large and well-equipped with the highest quality modern stainless steel appliances. The villa has 5 en suite bedrooms, plus an extra kids room interconnecting to one of the bedrooms as well as an additional staff room. The master bedroom is spectacular. Above a carpet of black pebbles, an enormous bed made from open slats of wengewood has the pride of place.
Three superb cottages, each decorated with a specific theme of Asian culture and private terraces, await their guests. The outdoor living and dining area under the covered part of the terrace has a barbecue as well as a gazebo with a day-bed and deckchairs from which you can enjoy the superb view. A heated Jacuzzi interrupts the uniformity of the immense deck, where huge jars add to the grandeur of the surroundings. The mirror-like infinity pool appears to drop off the hillside and melt into the Bay of Marigot.
Wireless internet, flat screens and other forms of technology are provided through the villa. The Asian inspired private cinema room has seating for 7. For staying in shape, there is an air-conditoned fitness room, equipped with various body-building devices.
